Basketball semi-final

Colaiste Ooze Class but Nagle have their Measure in Formidable Battle of the North!

After a blistering start to the first quarter, in which Colaiste dominated on both ends of the court, our U19 boys unfortunately fell to local rivals, Nagle Rice, in the Cork County D League Semi Final on Thursday last (21st of November).

A close encounter, that went nip and tuck for the majority of the game, Colaiste were left frustrated by a series of well worked plays denied only by the basket ring. Finding themselves only a point behind with three minutes left, Colaiste pressed hard to take control of the game but unfortunately the bounce went in favour of the visitors who came away seven point winners in the end.

Honorable mentions must be given to star player Tommy Woulfe (15), who led the team from start to finish with high intensity drives up the court, constantly demanding the best from the players around him, Luke Collier for his “Lebron-esque” fade away jumper in the third, Conrad Cremin for his dynamic play, and Paddy Bowles and Paul O’Keeffe who dominated under the board and proved a constant source of frustration for Nagle Rices’s players.

We would like to wish Nagle Rice the very best of luck in the County Final and look forward to renewing our rivalries over the coming years.
