Basketball Presentation

A number of weeks ago, 8 Transition Year students sold Coláiste shorts & socks, which were a huge success. A portion of the price from these was collected by the students to donate to a local charity. On Monday, we invited Special Olympics Mallow into the school where the students presented a set of Match and Training Basketballs to the club using the money raised from the sale of their shorts & socks. Michelle Gallagher and Julie Dwyer from Mallow Special Olympics spoke to the students about how these basketballs will be used by the members of the club and how appreciative they are of the support.

We also got to meet some members of Special Olympics Mallow and heard some of their stories as they prepare for National & International Competitions. A huge well done to our 8 TY students for their excellent work over the past number of weeks, Conor O’Brien, Oier O’Callaghan, Stephanie O’Connell, Niamh Mortell, Orna O’Connor, Jack Raftery, Patrick O’Neill & Odhran Ward.
