Celebrity Chef

We had the pleasure of inviting Celebrity Chef Joanne McEldwowney into our Home Economics kitchen. Joanne owns Thatch & Thyme, a very popular restaurant in Kildorrery. During the morning sessions, second year Home Economics students baked and decorated cupcakes under Joanne’s guidance. 

In the afternoon, they were treated to a cookery demonstration of several dishes which are quick to make and serve but tasty enough for a restaurant menu. These included chicken and chorizo salad, spiced chickpea salad, Thai red chicken curry and sweet and savoury pancakes.

A special mention to the four Master Chefs, Caoimhe Byrne, Amy Fagan, Aaron Trimm and Sean O Shea who impressed Joanne throughout their baking! Well done to you!
