Every School Day Counts

In conjunction with a service re-brand, Tusla Educational Welfare Services (EWS) are launching and supporting an annual national attendance awareness campaign ‘Every School Day Counts’, this November. The ‘Every School Day Counts’ campaign aims to highlight the importance of school attendance with regard to achieving positive educational outcomes for children and young people.

As a school community we are launching the following initiatives to support this nationals campaign:

  1. Every Day Counts Art Competition -for Junior classes: 1st to 3rd years

We are running an art competition to raise awareness with pupils, parents and the community about why full attendance is so important. We want students to design a poster (can be created on iPad or on paper, A4 or A3) on why ‘Every School Day Counts’. There will be a prize (voucher) for each class winner.
Entry closing date: Friday 6th Dec .
Students will get more information about the poster competition in SPHE/ CSPE classes over the next few weeks.

  2. 20 Day Challenge starting from November 18th to December 13th .

There will be a prize for students who attend the 20 days with no absences or no lates.
