Walk In My Shoes

Maria, one of our Transition Year students, had the privilege of participating in the WIMS (Walk In My Shoes) program at St. Patrick's Mental Health Hospital. Alongside 20 students from across the country, Maria spent a week immersed in learning how to support individuals struggling with mental health challenges.

During the program, she received a guided tour of the hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and attended inspiring talks by guest speakers, including the hospital’s medical director, an occupational therapist, and a pharmacist. This experience provided Maria with valuable insights and guidance for exploring future career paths.

Next May, Maria and her peers will return to the hospital to graduate as certified Mental Health Ambassadors—a significant milestone in their journey to making a positive impact. Congratulations, Maria, on embracing this fantastic opportunity!
