Thursday afternoon we held our annual sports day. This is one of the highlights of the school year and this year was no different.

A huge congratulations to Isaiah O’ Driscoll, Paul Leavit-Murphy and Aisling McInerny on winning their Garda Youth Awards Thursday evening in Charleville Park Hotel.

The Senior Girls Footballer Team would like to thank Eden Childcare for their generous donation towards Crewneck tops for the recent Munster Final. Below are some of the girls modelling the beautiful tops!

Our Senior girls played Castleisland Community College yesterday morning in Buttevant GAA pitch. Unfortunately they came up against an excellent Castleisland side.

Yesterday our brave Leaving Certs took on the teachers of the Colaiste in a soccer match. They fought very hard but were unable to take advantage of their youth and speed - narrowly being defeated by the teachers 1-0.

This week we will be taking part in the Take One Programme with ETB Ireland.

The Home Economics students have been very busy - first years making mini egg cookies before the Easter midterm and our second year students have shown great creativity with their Textiles CBA tie dying and embroidering clothing or household items.

A big thank you Suzanne and Aaron from Blackwater Engineering in Mallow who gave a presentation to our 5th & 6th year Engineering students about the company and apprenticeships that are available.

A huge well done to our first year ladies footballers who took part in a blitz in Ballincollig on yesterday. They played their hearts out and really improved as the day went on. Their team work and effort was brilliant from the start.

2A ran a bake sale as part of their CSPE project on the 7th of April in the canteen. All the money from the bake sale is going towards the Irish Emergency Alliance. We raised 450 euro for the charity. Thank you to everybody who participated in the event.

Bernard Casey paid a long awaited visit to the Colaiste this week. Casey, a comedian, actor and drama teacher spent the day engaging second year students in a drama workshop.

Seachtain na Gaeilge was celebrated in Coláiste Mhuire over the past week. Students from all year groups spent the week engaging in a variety of in-class activities like Kahoots and poster competitions on common Seanfhocails. It was a thoroughly enjoyable week for both students and staff.

Literacy week took place in the Colaiste recently. Students took part in numerous activities, such as, Six Word Stories, Blackout poetry, Memes, Dictionary games, Name that Film, Guess the Teacher, Rapping and highlight of the week was The Chase.

Make A Book 2022 ‘Man’s destruction to fish and the habitat they live in’ was created by one of our first year CSPE class under the guidance of Ms. Valerie Garvey.

Well done to 2nd Year Home Economics students on completing their tie-dye projects, even the sunshine appeared to help display them!! 😎🌈

Some of our music students that sang and played as part of The Big Busk for Focus Ireland in Kent Station on Friday were featured by EchoLive.ie which included great photos and videos of our students.

Our school choir are performing at Kent Station today at 2 o clock as part of the TodayFM - “The Big Busk”. They would be delighted to see any of ye whom may be in the city today. Best of luck to everyone involved.
