First Aid and Manual Handling Workshop
The Transition Year students had First Aid and Manual Handling workshops on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th December.
Students received instruction and demonstration on:
• Cardiac emergencies: heart attack and stroke.
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Scene management and patient assessment.
• Impaired responsiveness and the unconsciousness patient.
• Recovery position.
• Airway obstruction and choking.
• Bleeding and wounds.
TY students also did their Manual Handling practical exam as part of their Online Manual Handling course.
