TY News

TY students enjoyed a goal setting workshop delivered by Stephen Kiernan on Tuesday.

On Monday morning all senior year groups (TY, 5th and 6th years) took part in a breast cancer awareness talk. This was facilitated by Juliette O’Connell from Breast Cancer Ireland.

We woke up on the third day in Paris and went straight for the beautiful Montmartre region. Here, students climbed a *few* steps up to Sacre Coeur (church of the sacred heart).

The TYs have been doing great things this year on their Social Media module with Ms. Cogan, drawing the attention of UCC who reached out to collaborate in an EU funded project to harness all their skills!

We got up early Tuesday morning and headed to EuroDisney. The students enjoyed a day of thrilling rollercoasters and finished it off with a beautiful firework display.

TY students travelled to Paris last Monday on their foreign school tour. On arrival, they visited the gardens around the Louvre museum and went on a boat tour down the River Seine.

The Transition year maths students have been very busy planning lessons and activities to deliver to primary school students for the last few weeks as part of our promoting numeracy initiative.

Our Transition year students enjoyed two fantastic days at Ballyhass Lakes recently for team building and buddy activities.

Here are some of your TY music students developing their keyboard skills. Some of the students are only starting to learn keyboard, while others, who are more experienced are sharing their expertise and helping out their friends.

TY students completed an online farm safety course during Ag. science class recently. Here they are pictured with their Certificates along with some of the farm safety posters they designed.

Well done to our TY students who travelled to Lahinch last week for their first activity this year. The students had a brilliant experience surfing the waves of west Clare. Thanks again to Ben's Surf Clinic for their help.

Our TYs travelled to Kippure Estate in Wicklow last Monday for an overnight trip. Upon arrival, they took part in a bushcraft activity where the collected wood and built their own shelters.

Thursday morning bright and early our Transition Year students and their teachers ventured off to Tayto Park. They had a wonderful day filled with rollercoaster after rollercoaster, large teddies and plenty of laughs along the way.

I along with other TY students, Sarah Salvin, Caoimhe Byrne, Natalie Bradshaw and our teacher Miss Weir set off for a trip to Brussels early on Tuesday morning last week.

During their Home Economics class Tuesday, some of our T.Y students made Pancakes. They were delighted with the result.

Well done to the transition year students who completed 40k of the Limerick Greenway yesterday and on Monday 7th February.

Transition Years spread the love for Valentines by delivering Red roses today. All monies raised will be donated to Women's Aid. Thank you to all who donated and participated.
