Week 9 Results

Hi all,

A huge well done to everyone that got out and active for Week 9 of the Coláiste Mhuire Fitness Challenge, the ‘Marathon in a Week’. We had more than 20 students completing the distance of a marathon over the course of a week which is excellent! Maybe we might have a marathon runner from Coláiste Mhuire one day🏃🏼‍♂️🏃‍♀️.

Week 8 Results

Below are the results of Week 8 of the Coláiste Mhuire Fitness Challenge. Of the huge number of students that completed a 5k walk/run in under 40 minutes, one winner was chosen at random. Well done to............Nicola Guinane (3rd Year). Nicola was chosen at random and completed her 5k in a very impressive time.

5th Year - Return to School Information Letter

Dear parent,

We are delighted that our 5th Year students can return to school on next Monday 15th March. As outlined in correspondence sent out last August, our classrooms sizes are such that we can achieve the desired 1m social distancing with all subject groups and we have ensured every possible additional safety measure is put in place to ensure the safety of everyone upon opening. All of the necessary precautions such as social distanced classroom layouts, staggered breaks, restricted access to school buildings, one-way circulation systems, washing and sanitising facilities, signage and information sharing and procedures for dealing with suspected cases, remain in place.

A huge well done to everyone that got out for a Walk/Run as part of Week 7 - ‘5 Day Challenge’. This week's winner is.......Ellie Lehane (1st Year). Ellie was chosen at random across all students who completed last week’s challenge, congratulations Ellie. Below are some interesting statistics we noticed from last week:
- ‘5 Day Challenge’ - We had a huge uptake of students completing the challenge during the week, with more than 100 students getting out and active on 5 or more days in the week!

Entries for the February photo challenge are now being accepted by Mr. Curtin and Ms. Foott. Please email your photos through before 4pm on Friday 5th March. Entries can be sent in as a collage, a PowerPoint, a shared album or on a Word document. There are already some wonderful entries so don’t forget to send yours through to be in with a chance of winning some lovely prizes.

This week's winner is.......Luke Moynihan (TY)🚴🏻‍♂️ Luke was chosen at random across all students who completed last week’s challenge, congratulations Luke. Below are some interesting statistics we noticed from last week:
- ‘Buttevant on Bikes’ - We had a huge uptake of students completing a Cycle during the week, so much so that we will have another cycling competition before Easter Break!
